Rodrigo Garcia, P.E.
Mr. Garcia is the Technical Advisor of the Empowering Latinas. He was also the Founding Father of The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
Mr. Garcia has over 40 years of experience including 15 years working for City of Los Angeles Building and Safety, Public Works, and Port of Los Angeles. He is the Founder of the Century Diversified Inc. He has managed and directed over 300 projects related to transit, transportation, civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, project management, and planning. He has design experience in structural and civil engineering projects including bridge structures, earthquake retrofitting, and site work. He has experience in the checking of building and safety permit plans.
Mr. Garcia, with his firm, has worked on a variety of major projects in Los Angeles including the Metro Green line and Red line, reconstruction of Caltrans I-405 and I-118, FEMA Northridge Earthquake structural evaluation of several Los Angeles County buildings, and Henry Ford Bridges to name a few. He has provided civil engineering services to private and public clients including Los Angeles Unified School District, City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority. He was Vice President for a major engineering firm, serving as project manager for a $1 billion transportation project, the electric trolley bus; he managed 65 employees and 28 subcontractors in the planning, EIR, design, procurement and construction management of the project.
Mr. Garcia also has excellent skills and experience in project government relations. He has served on several boards and committees including community organizations, professional, governmental, and private including the CELSOC, Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation and California Earthquake Authority Advisory Panel, to name a few.
